Why does the solubility of alkaline earth metal sulfates decrease in the subgroup from top to bottom, while the solubility of hydroxides increases in the same direction?

Maybe it's something to do with energy of crystaline form? When the diameter of anion and catyon are close crystal lettuce have a higher energy. Hydroxyl anion is quite small if to compare to sulfate anion, so smaller atoms have a closer diameter to it. Vise versa, larger atoms have closer diameter to sulphate anion
