How useful is virtual screening for drug detection?

In silico the technical term for "virtual" screening for drug discovery is a vital process. About 10,000 potential targets start with drug searches that eventually reach 1-2 patients. This means millions of dollars is spent on this process. If in silico showing were ideal, it would save a lot of time and money.
