Can genetic research prove that all life on Earth, including humans, shares a common heritage?
All organisms, except for RNA viruses, have a similar genetic mechanism. Genetic information is encoded in DNA, which is used to create RNA, which is used to encode proteins using RNA-based ribosomes. If living things were not related, it would be surprising that they used extremely similar mechanisms for storing and using genetic information.

@ekaterina-gribacheva I recommend you to read the book "Logic of Chance, The: The Nature and Origin of Biological Evolution" by E. Koonin. Amazing introduction to evolution basics.
